Mind Vs Heart

This outfit makes me smile, it all came together pretty surprisingly fast. Not that its too complicated, but, some time ago I found *Sari’s* dreadlocks and as soon as I saw Aoharu‘s new dresses I knew one couldn’t go without the other.  So I combined the two, for a more hippie-summer-earthy-ethnic-whatever you want to name the look. I’ve edited the dress a bit, made it shorter, losing the chest prim aswell. I thought ‘less is more’ this time. I love the silky feel to it and the flower/spring-like rich texture.  I wanted it shorter, more casual, so I could wear Milk Motion‘s pocahonta’s sandals. Love them and shame on me for not featuring them until now. The accessories just accentuate the concept/specific look I wanted to do here. Henna tats from *Sari’s* aswell, Shiny Things ruma’ necklace…and a little bit of yesterday’s look which goes perfectly well with this top, the orchid corsage. I love this look. Orchid delight

I’ve always been a fan, though from afar, of Miko Omegamu‘s creations (the heart and creative mind behind *ICING*). They’re always very delicate, romantic, vintage inspired, and ever so classy. I’ve had the honor to receive Miko’s latest creation and for the first time, I finally found a way to deconstruct it (though successfully I hope) and make my interpretation of how we can wear this absolutely amazing dress. Thank you so much miko! You can see the amount of dedication and thought behind it no doubt. From the off shoulder sleeves and vines delicately adorning the bodice to the amazing orchid  corsage covering part of the top up to the sleeve. Perfection! One can wear the dress in all its glory, or choose to mix and match with other pieces. I’ve opted for 3 looks. The complete look with the ‘orchid delight‘ dress, one more ‘dressed down’ with the top and a flower (color) matching skirt (part of ‘keiko tunic’) and the last one with Maitreya High waisted skirt – all with the same colors as common bond. I personally like them all and it’s just another way to show you how we can have an outfit and turn it into more than one. <3 Uma

Pink, Green, Orange and love.

I’ve had a lot to think about, I’m still in a weird mood and I’m still trying to give sl a break. Mostly socially, which only means less time spent in sl and the time I’m on, focused on what I like doing. Don’t know if this phase is a acumulation of several feelings/situations I haven’t had the cold blood to step back or not get influenced by, however I’m still in love with clothes!..and I’m still in awe by the support, the kind words and the people that are worth, coming back, blogging, sharing thoughts with, and worth of my attention aswell. I’ve said in reply to friends words that lately all I take joy and pleasure of is, with no doubt, blogging. So that’s where all my thoughts will be directed to. I’m 3 days away from being 2 years old, and omg, maybe this is just a nostalgic phase I’m going through? Buh. As I think back and evaluate my sl experience, all I can be thankful for is the people I’ve met, the friends I’ve made and the experience of starting a blog and the (positive) feedback I’ve received from everyone. My last post, wasn’t a goodbye one, by no means I’ll give up doing what I love the most. I was just sharing my thoughts on how I feel about lot of things that have been going on, how the negativity/shallowness I see around affects me in a serious level. However I’ve always been able to not care/think or even make an effort to know about (or participate) in drama/be affected by it, so that’s what I’ll try to do again, from now on. As I’m turning ’2 years old’ my blog is turning one year old. I started blogging on june 13th (2008) and OMG, as I look back it feels like it was yesterday. So bear with me (and my moods)  I plan on celebrating a year of blogging experience in a (hopefully) happy way/mood. With all this in mind and focusing on what I really *heart* doing, let me spam you a little bit. Revival.

Hey. I’ve been feeling a little grumpy/tired/mad since saturday. Haven’t logged since then and I’m slightly sick of everyone LOL. </3  This last week I’ve witnessed a lot of things I didn’t like to…well meh, it doesn’t matter anymore. Needed an sl break, I’m not back, lol, 100% at least but I’ve logged for a few minutes today and wanted to put together a look, based on old stuff. How many of us have had this or that piece in inventory since forever and noticed we never worn it again? It happens to me a lot, so I wanted to revive one of Paper Couture’s (last line) dress. Basically the top of ‘magpie’ dress (which I’ve only worn once) and ty zvezda skirt. The fading on both pieces worked amazingly/perfectly in my opinion. So with or without accessories (head dress or neck piece) it’s a fresh, girly look that I absolutely love. The flats were 10 lindens, [Tou Fromc*] is the name of store and there’s more cute flats, but these you can get by paying 10lindens, (random gift giver) but/and you never know what you can get. Military+Denim = Win!

Haiiiii!!  I didn’t resist coming back to show you another sneak preview of what Miss Polina Kaestner is up to. This will be part of a whole denim line she’s preparing to release (there’s not a scheduled day yet) and absolutely irresistible. Girl and the Sea

Haiii! Excited its friday already? WOOT!..I am. So, I’m back to tell you, Irie Campese will be releasing some cute stuff over at So Many Styles during the weekend, so I thought I’d put together a look, and give you a little sneak preview. Both shorts and red blouse are part of what she’ll be releasing. So Many Styles is probably one of the most diversed/versatile  stores in world and there’s no way you won’t find something you really love there. The blouse has one of my all time favourite features, which are puffy sleeves and it can work both as a blouse or a jacket. I opted as a jacket pairing it with Milk Motion’s ‘my sailor tank top’ (which I edited to be more fitting). The shorts I really love, from the puffy-like shape of cuffs to the belt detail, you can surely mix and match with a lot of things. Red white and blue were my options, so if that didn’t make you think of a sailorette/navy look, the hat will sure do it. Black and White . Cute and Sleek

YAY! I managed to come back again. I’ve been slightly busy with at least 3 projects going on at the same time (I’ll share with you when the time comes) and god knows how I’ve been going from one place an the other, and then hiding in my cocoon. However I don’t like to neglect blogging, my little place, ‘home’ even. So  I had the time to put some stuff together. I wanted to make somewhat of a connection between these two looks, basically in terms of colors, at least. One being a more kawaii-like the other a more sleek look. I just wanted to go a little ‘versatile’ wearing same things in both looks, or similar, and still put together two different looks. I’ve stated a million times how I absolutely *love* chapeau tres mignon hats, so when I saw abra’s awesome look with mickey’s hat and after Rinka kindly sending over this shirt I knew I wouldn’t resist it, I just had to wear both. On the second look, I wanted to be able to use the same/similar things as base, and do a more sleek look. Digit Darke’s newest release seemed perfect. It’s a whole long dress but I opted to just wear the shirt. The dress is quite beautiful though. So, same skirt, shoes and leggings..slightly different, for however you’re in the mood for. <3 Uma

Shopping list!!!

Haiii!!! ^^ So today I spent part of my afternoon rl shopping. Groceries and crap and yes, while I’m not organized in most anything in my life (both of them) I tend to make shopping lists. So I don’t buy more than I should or don’t get distracted with what I shouldn’t. Anyways, I decided to dress accordingly in sl. Loose is the word. Loose shirt, loose pants, cute updo and an ecologic ride . So my pixels decided to go on a shopping stroll and..to my surprise I found these awwwwwwwwwwwwwesoooooooome things I wanted to share with you. *insert I haven’t seen this before so if you have don’t need to tell me, give me the satisfaction of thinking I found it by myself* Anyways, lol, you need to check K&D shop, I almost couldn’t resist any of the rides there. I bought the stylish shopping cart (which you see in pics below) and the Salamander. Whats cute about these is that both come with vehicles which you can ride, and while the shopping cart comes with a shopping basket (and a cute fall animation and groceries thrown everywhere+cart you can push around) the salamander comes with ‘folded’ ride backpack. OMG, how cute are these?..I’m a sucker for any kind of weird/cute ride and you definitely need to check this store out. The hair is DEJAVU’S new hair, (arigatou dango <3 u) will be released today and its the cutest updo. You might need to edit it a bit, all you big heads out there (me included) but it’s an absolute keeper. <3 Uma
